
More than 1,000 bikers join Duterte for President 2016 fun ride

DAVAO CITY -- More than 1,000 bikers from different groups joined the first Duterte for President 2016 Bikers? Movement Fun Ride held June 14 in an out-and-back course at the Rizal Park.
Among the groups came from the Terrain Challenger 611, South Davao Mountain Riders (SDMR), MBA Bikers Association, Davao City Water District Bikers Club, Kutas Bikers, UCPB-Magsaysay Bikers Club, Cycle for Life, City Assessors Office, Asai Team, Dona Asuncion Pampanga Riders, DDF Mandug Village Bikers, Kar Asia Mountain Bikers Association (Kamba), Kubal, Ecoland Free Riders, SPMC Bikers, Homitore Group, NCCC Village, Tikos, Sun City United Bikers Association (SCUBA), Gold Vision, Gold Value, Uni Bikers, Macabayan Security, Davao Dafolding Society (DDS), The Responders, Rota Davao and the Mayor Rody Duterte Cycling Team.
Mayor Rody Duterte was represented by former Philippine Sports Commission chairman William ?Butch? Ramirez, who is now the officer-in-charge of the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office.
Ramirez, who always join Duterte?s campaign for federalism around the country, said that the city mayor has not yet decided to run for president in the next election.
?Let?s just wait for the next results of the survey,? said Ramirez, who thanked also the organizers and participants.
Duterte got 15 percent together with DILG secretary Mar Roxas in the last survey behind Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Grace Poe in that order.
?We really thank everybody for joining and giving their support for the huge success of this event. This only shows how many people are supporting our beloved Mayor Duterte to run for president? said organizer Salvador ?Jun? Paholio Jr., chairman of the Davao City Sports Consumer Cooperative.
Twenty-three lady bikers also joined the ride supported by the Davao Livestrong Builders, Nature?s Spring Water, Philcycling, City Councilor Edgar Ibuyan, Central 911 and city government of Davao.
?We will also pray for Mayor Duterte to run for president,? said Monica Ayala of Cycle for Life.
Aside from the free porridge from the city mayor?s office, raffle prizes were also given during the closing program. ? LITO DELOS REYES
