MARK JOHN YAP IN BIG WIN OVER EX WORLD TITLE CHALLENGER LANDAETA

Mark John Yap has scored what amounts to a big win in his career with a six round unanimous decision over former world title challenger, veteran Juan Jose Landaeta of Venezuela in a bantamweight bout in Hyogo, Japan.

With the win the 26 year old Yap who was formerly with ALA Promotions improved his record to 21-12 with 10 knockouts.
Two judges scored the fight 59-54 for Yap who now fights out of Osaka, Japan while the third judge had it by a shutout for the Filipino 60-53.

The win broke a losing streak of three fights for Yap while the 36 year old Landaeta dropped to 26-8-1 with 20 knockouts. The Venezuelan lost by a 12th round split decision in a WBA light flyweight title fight to Japan?s Koki Kameda on August 2, 2006 but won the WBA Fedelatin flyweight title with an 11th round split decision over Ronald Barrera.

Over at the Forum de Macau in China, light flyweight Michael ?Blade? Enriquez scored a 5th round TKO victory over Oscar Raknafa of Indonesia to push his record to 11-3-1 with 7 knockouts while the Indonesian fell to 12-10 with 6 knockouts.
Enriquez was coming off an excellent showing against undefeated Rex Tso of Macau and although he lost a unanimous ten round decision the 23 year old Filipino put on a fine performance against Tso whose record was 15-0 with 9 knockouts last Marc 7.
