THE MP Promotions USA LLC of 8-world division champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is planning to bring back its "Tibay ng Pinoy" boxing show in Manila soon.

"Our first Tibay ng Pinoy was infact held in Manila which was a world championship fight," said MP Davao Boxing Stable chief trainer Raides "Nonoy" Neri at the presscon of the "Tibay ng Pinoy 8" last Friday held at the Family Country Hotel.
The said hotel, formerly owned by boxing patron Rey Golingan, is now owned by Pacquiao.

After the inaugural promotion in Manila, MP Promotions then brought Tibay ng Pinoy in General Santos City, Davao City and Panabo City.

"Our next boxing is on August 1 in Butuan City," said Neri, one of the Pacquiao's Filipino assistant trainers and his official dietician.

MP Promotions also plans to bring it back to Manila.

"We are still planning it," Neri said.

The MP Stable also handles young amateur boxers based in Digos City.

"Right now, we have more than 20 pro boxers in Davao," Neri said.
MP Promotions is staging its 8th edition of the Tibay ng Pinoy on May 30, Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Lagao Gym. As usual, the admission is again free to the public.

"Laging libre ang entrance namin sa lahat ng mga tao. Ang gusto kasi ni Boss Manny na lahat ng tao ang makapanood ng boxing," said co-promoter Joven Jimenez of Joven Sports Promotion. - LITO DELOS REYES
