
INDIA PLUNGES INTO PRO BOXING WITH WBC ASIAN BOXING COUNCIL TITLE FIGHT

India plunges into professional boxing with a four fight card in New Delhi on Saturday headlined by a battle for the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council welterweight title fight between Neeraj Goyat who has a record 2 wins, 2 losses with both wins coming by way of knockouts and Nelson Gulpe who has a record of 8-4 with 3 knockouts.
Respected international referee Bruce McTavish who has conducted several seminars at WBC Conventions will again conduct a seminar for Indian ring officials.
Several months ago during a visit by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman, Pakistan also entered the pro boxing ranks and with India's entry, the sport is clearly growing in the region especially since both India and Pakistan have some talented amateur boxers who are likely to turn pro in the future.
In a four round bantamweight bout Baikon Lokromklao who has just one win against 6 losses faces Balbir Sing who lost in his debut.
In a middleweight clash two young fighters in Dilbag Singh and James Smith Clinton will make their debut while undefeated cruiserweight Gurlal Singh wh o has a record of 6 knockouts in six wins will go up against Vikas Hooda who is making his pro debut.
