12 bouts in Tibay ng Pinoy 8

DAVAO CITY ? Twelve exciting pairs including a Philippine championship are featured in the Tibay ng Pinoy 8 set on May 30 at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.
Billed as the "Handog Pasasalamat ni Cong. Manny Pacquiao", the free boxing card is presented by the MP Promotions in coordination with Joven Sports Promotions.
According to Vanessa Neri of MP Promotions, the main event is a 12-round championship between undisputed Philippine junior welterweight champion Adones Cabalquinto of Talaingod, Davao del Norte and challenger Jonel Gadapan of Iligan City.
Cabalquinto, also reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council super lightweight title-holder will be making his fourth title-defense of the PH title.
Eleven other exciting fighters from the MP Boxing Stable will also be featured.
International Boxing Federation (IBF) Pan Pacific super flyweight champion Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas (22 wins, 14 KOs, 1 loss, 1 draw) of Panabo City will fight against Juan "Punisher" Purisima (11 win, 4 KOs, 7 loses, 1 draw) of General Santos City.
IBF World Youth super flyweight champion Aston "Mighty" Palicte (17 wins, 15 KOs, 1 loss) of Bago City takes on Luzon Professional Boxing Association (Luzproba) super flyweight king Michael Escobia (10 wins, 2 KOs, 9 loses, 1 draw) of Bohol.
Former interim IBF Pan Pacific super bantamweight champion Drian "Gintong Kamao" Francisco (27 wins, 21 KOs, 2 loses, 1 draw) of Mindoro Occidental will trade punches with Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super flyweight king Jason Canoy (23 wins, 17 KOs, 5 loses, 2 draws) of Balamban, Cebu.
The other match-ups are: Genesis Libranza vs. Rodel Tejares (8 rds.), Dono Romero vs. Arnel Asebuque (8 rds); Orly Silvestre vs. Michael Barja (8 rds.); Marvelo Aballe vs. Ding-Ding Quinones (6 rds.); Renemark Cuarto vs. Jhony Belo (6 rds.); Aries Benavidez vs. Jason Mopon (6 rds.); Ronnie Galdonado vs. John Leo Galleposo (6 rds.); and Jose Ravelo Aballe vs. Julius Protestas (4 rds).
"Tibay ng Pinoy 8" is presented by 8-world division champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and sponsored by Mitsubishi, Family Country Hotel, Gatorade, Sting and Pepsi.
