Promising WBO Oriental super flyweight champion Warlito ?Cowboy? Parrenas is training hard for his WBO Interim title fight against David Carmona in Mexico on June 30.

British trainer Warren Evison of United International Promotions based in Tokyo told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Parrenas who has been sparring with top Japanese Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation champions and Japan?s national champion was ?doing well in sparring? and was looking forward to his title fight.

Parrenas himself told us he is determined to win the title for ?our country and people.?

Evison said they had watched fight tapes of Carmona who he described as ?fast but with not much power.?

Should Parrenas win he will have to face Japanese world champion Naoya Inoue within 90 days after the Carmona bout in Mexico.

Ranked No. 1 by the WBO, Parrenas has a record of 24-6 with 21 knockouts and is on a seven fight winning streak. He is trained by former boxer Sammy Bernabe.

The 24 year old Carmona who is ranked one notch behind Parrenas has a record of 19-2-4 with 8 knockouts, one of which was at the hands of then champion Omar Andres Narvaez of Argentina with Carmona?s corner throwing in the towel with 22 seconds remaining in round seven as Narvaez dominated the Mexican on December 21, 2013.
