One of the most exciting fighters today who stands and fights and doesn?t run or grab his opponents, Kazakhstan?s undefeated Gennady Golvkin defends his WBA, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight titles against skillful Willie Monroe Jr in Inglewood, California on Sunday, Manila Time in a fight to be telecast over Solar Sports beginning with the undercard bouts at 9:00 a.m.

Super Sport of South Africa believes that Golvkin?s reputation as boxing?s new ?hitman? comes under scrutiny again when he faces Monroe Jr.

The popular 33 year old Kazakh fighter is undefeated in 32 pro bouts, 29 of them within the distance but is expected to have a rough time against the 28 year old southpaw Monroe Jr.

However the consensus is that Golovkin will retain his belts and reinforce his image as a merciless finisher.

The task won?t be easy as Monroe Jr who has won 19 fights, six inside the distance with only one loss to Darnell Boone in March 2011.

Monroe who is ranked No. 2 by the WBA enjoys a slight height and reach advantage and was impressive in beating Brian Vera in his last fight in January this year.

In May 2014 Monroe Jr won the vacant WBA and WBO North American titles when he ended the unbeaten run of Brandon Adams while Golovkin has shown outstanding form in beating Osumanu Adam in round seven, Daniel Geale in in round three, Marco Antonio Rubio in round two and Martin Murray in round eleven.

It is expected that should Golovkin win impressively fight fans will call for a showdown against one of the big names in boxing, possibly including Floyd Mayweather Jr.
