LAS VEGAS - Bantamweight (WBC) champion, Leo Santa Cruz was successful in his first fight in the featherweight division, routing Jose Cayetano (17-4, 8 KOs) in 10 rounds of action.

Santa Cruz, who also remained undefeated (30-0-1, 17 KOs) scored a convincing and shutout win in the bout before the main event of the 'Fight of Century'.

The scores of 100 to 90 across the board reflected the lopsided victory of Santa Cruz who was eager to score a knockout to impress the audience who are present to watch history at The MGM Grand Garden Arena.

"He's a great fighter, I hit him in the body and head but he never went down," described Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz stated after the bout that he wants to face Abner Mares in this weight class and also WBO champ Vasyl Lomachenko who was victorious earlier tonight.

"I definitely want the bigger names and the big fights. I want Mares, I want Lomachenko."

Santa Cruz also scored heavily in the post fight stats, his output was double that of his opponent , (402 of 932) against Cayetano (148 of 514) in the punches connected and thrown category.

He also connected almost half of his power punches (268 of 565) compared to Cayetano's (126 of 351) output.
