On the eve of an epic ?Battle for Greatness? between eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and unbeaten pound for pound No. 1 Floyd Mayweather Jr, Viva Sports will present the third and final episode in its pre-fight series of primers that will set the stage for the unprecedented multi-network telecast of the fight by Solar Entertainment Corporation which has the exclusive rights for the Philippines across all platforms.
The broadcast team will be made up of veteran boxing analyst and Philippine Star columnist Quinito Henson nicknamed ?The Dean?, respected boxing analyst Mike Ochosa of Viva Sports with veteran broadcaster and boxing commentator Ronnie Nathanielsz also of Viva serving as anchorman.
The primer will provide a brief view of Mayweather beating up an unidentified sparring partner and extensive footage of his training at the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas.
There will also be footage of Pacquiao?s workouts at the Wild Card Gym plus his running on the hillside of Griffith Park and the flat stretch of Pan Pacific Park.
While there is no video of any of Pacquiao?s sparring sessions, fight fans will get a glimpse of his sparring partners in action with fight video of tough Dierry Jean, MMA fightere Dashon Johnson who reportedly came from the Mayweaher Gym, Kenneth Sims Jr and Rashid Ellis.
Internationally respected referee Bruce McTavish provides his thoughts on the two referee who were in contention for the right to be the third man in the ring ? Kenny Bayless and Tony Weeks ? with Oscar De La Hoya claiming the choice of Bayless favors Mayweather even as he lamented the fact that Mayweather was calling the shots.
The special will also feature an interview with WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman and shots of the million dollar Emerald Belt which will go to the winner.
The special will also highlight the Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto title fight which effectively triggered discussions on a possible Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown.
Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz talks about the chance meeting at the Miami Heat NBA game between Pacquiao and Mayweather which moved the negotiations forward plus interviews with trainer Freddie Roach, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, popular broadcaster Bernardo Osuna and insights from Kieran Mulvaney of HBO Sports plus Yahoo?s Katie Couric?s interview with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The show winds down with Pacquiao?s rendition of his entrance song specially composed for the ?Battle for Greatness.?
