NBA Playoffs -- Hawks take 2-0 lead over Nets

CHICAGO -- The No.1 seeded Atlanta Hawks were taken to the distance by the No.8 Brooklyn Nets but the top seeds eventually prevailed in Game 2, 96-91, to take a 2-0 series lead.

Paul Millsap was the high point man for the Hawks with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Kyle Korver sank 3 triples and finished 17 while Jeff Teague had 16 markers and six dimes. Al Horford added 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Down 86-75 with 6:31 left in the fourth quarter, the Nets had a chance to tie things up at 93-93 in final eight seconds of play, but Brooklyn guard Deron Williams missed a wide open jumper and Kyle Korver iced the Game 2 with two free throws.

Jarret Jack had the hot hands for the Nets with 23 off the bench while center Brook Lopez had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Joe Johnson finished with 19.

Game 3 is Friday night (Saturday AM in Manila) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
