John Mark Apolinario who was scheduled to face undefeated American Jessie Magdaleno in Laredo, Texas on Saturday failed to get a license and his main event bout was cancelled.

The New Standard/boxingmirror.com was informed it concerned some medical issues. However, there were no specifics disclosed.
The 25 year old Apolinario who has a record of 18-5-3 with 5 knockouts won his last fight by a 1st round knockout of Joel Escol on January 11 after dropping a ten round unanimous decision to Drian Francisco on November 8, 2014.

He had previously lost a ten round decision to former world champion Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez on April 26, 2014 after dropping a twelve round decision in a WBA bantamweight title fight to Japan?s Koki Kameda on July 23, 2013.

Well known promoter Sammy Gello-ani who handled Apolinario and even helped get him his US visa along with trainer Joven Jimenez said they didn?t even inform him about leaving for the US to fight.

We checked with the Games and Amusements Board boxing division and were told by Tony Comia that Apolinario will face Magdaleno in an eight round bout and that he was accompanied by trainer Joven Jimenez and since Apolinario had no registered manager or promoter with the GAB, his trip tp fight abroad was approved.
When informed about our conversation with the GAB, Gello-ani admitted that he had no signed promoter?s contract with Apolinario but would have expected the courtesy of being informed since he had obtained a world title fight for Apolinario in the past.

Gello-ani also informed the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Apolinario?s former manager was Dr. Rajan Yraola who apparently didn?t renew his contract with the GAB.
