Undefeated Filipino challenger, WBC Asian Boxing Council light flyweight champion Richard Claveras and WBC king Pedro Guevera are ready to engage in a war without quarters at the Multipurpose Center of Mazatlan, Sinaloa.
Mexican media reports that the local boy Guevara will face the dangerous and undefeated challenger in a broadcast by Televisa Deportes in its traditional ?Saturday Box? which is on Sunday, Manila Time.
Guevara in a pre-fight press conference said "This title I won with sweat and tears ... and I will not give it to anybody."
Pedro Guevara said he ?respects his young and tireless warrior opponent, who will return to his homeland, the Philippines, with empty hands because the WBC world championship stays in Mexico, where it belongs.?
Claveras wasn?t awed by Guevara and said he was ?confident of his preparation, youth and power fists? and reiterated that the 13th knockout of his career will come in the hometown of the champion.
Claveras confidently predicted "I will put to sleep the champion and I will take will take the green and gold WBC belt to my house."
Claveras has a record of 12 knockouts in 12 wins with 2 draws against comparatively mediocre opponents while Guevara has a record of 29-1 with 16 knockouts against tried and tested fighters. His only loss was a twelve round split decision to IBF champion Johnreil Casimero.
