AJ ?Bazooka? Banal is down with a sore throat but respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer says its nothing to worry about.

In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today, Aldeguer revealed that when Banal, Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista and trainer Edito ?Ala? Villamor left Puerto Rico for Las Vegas ?it was raining, while Las Vegas is hot and very humid.? However, Aldeguer calmed the fears of fans saying ?they are okay.?

Aldeguer said the Filipinos who will be featured on the undercard of ?The World Awaits? in which Oscar De La Hoya battles undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr in what is expected to be a megabuck classic went jogging early morning, checked in at the MGM Grand Garden Hotel at noon and after a rest the two emerging ring sensations worked out in seclusion at a private gym which had been reserved by De La Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions.

Aldeguer said De La Hoya was scheduled to arrive from Los Angeles where he appeared as guest on the popular Jay Leno show.

Aldeguer said Bautista and Banal ?are in fine shape and ready to fight? He said Bautista was ?very confident? of beating undefeated Sergio Medina in their WBO super bantamweight title eliminator. Aldeguer disclosed that Banal weighed 119 pounds on Monday while Bautista was 125 which he was ?just right.? He said the spirits of both young fighters was ?very, very high and excited.?
