The World Boxing Council headed by its president Mauricio Sulaiman is pulling out all the stops to help ensure that the May 2 multi-million dollar showdown between eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated and undisputed pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr will be the greatest fight in boxing history.

WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman has announced that a very special exquisite belt will be created for the winner to hold aloft, following the May 2nd historic MEGAFIGHT between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Sulaiman said ?For this special recognition I would like to have emeralds or platinum, but everything will be defined during the next weeks. This is because of the magnitude of the event, which will be broadcast via TV networks globally.?

Mauricio highlighted that this bout is one of the most important throughout the entire boxing history, with a groundswell of anticipation in every part of the World. And both fighters must defend that prestige inside the ring, as there will be a great deal at stake during the bout.

He said on the WBC website ?It came in a good moment and it will be an emotive event. Both are obviously putting their legacy at stake, to prove who's the best, satisfying an enormous created expectance. They are also competing to be considered one of the best 10 fighters in the entire boxing history.?

Sulaiman added ?With tickets being as sought after as gold dust? he lamented the fact that only the rich can afford to buy tickets.

The WBC president remarked ?It is a big shame that tickets are staying with wealthy people. However, boxing fans will have the opportunity to watch the fight via TV. Economic interests are involved with resulting high prices.?

It will be recalled that the first WBC Diamond Belt during the time of WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman was won by Pacquiao when he scored a 12th round TKO over Miguel Cotto on November 14, 2009.
