In an unprecedented night of boxing in what the WBC itself described as ?a quality packed card? by Zovi Boxing Promotions which was broadcast nationwide in China five title fights endorsed by the WBC were all won by Chinese boxers.

In the main event China?s Qiu Xiao Jun won the vacant WBC International super bantamweight title with a rousing 6th round TKO over the Philippines Sylvester Lopez, a fighter of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde and a former WBC super flyweight Silver champion.
The WBC reported that the bout was ?dominated by the local fighter who conclusively proved to be more powerful and who landed punches with pinpoint accuracy? giving referee Malcolm Bulner of Australia no option but to stop the fight? in the 6th round.

With the win, Qui Xiao Jun improved his record to 15-2, with 7 KO?s, while Lopez's record is now 23-10-2, with 17 KO?s.
In what the WBC described as ?an eye catching bout? former WBC former minimumweight Champion, Xiong Zhao Zhong (24-7-1, 14 KO?s) defeated Hiroya Yamamoto (8-3) by decision after ten rounds, conquering the WBC vacant International minimumweight Championship.

In a highly competitive female match, Cai Zongju (4-1, 1 KO) overcame veteran Filipina boxer Gretchen Abaniel (15-7, 6 KO?s) by unanimous decision in a ten round slugfest, conquering the WBC International minimumweight and the Asian Boxing Council belts.

Yang Xing Xin (10-3-2, 7 KO?s), stopped Korean, Joon-Yong Lee in round six (4-3-3, 2 KO?s) winning the welterweight Youth Crown endorsed by the WBC. And for the WBC Asia welterweight title, Xian Wei Qian (7-4-1, 1 KO) defeated Hero Tito (9-6-1) in a ten round decision giving the Chinese a clean sweep of the titles.

Before the start of this historic event, the WBC website reported there was a Ten Bell Count ?dedicated to the loving and eternal memory of Don Jose Sulaiman, WBC Lifetime President who was instrumental, fundamental and inspirational in starting boxing development in China.?

It noted that with Don Jose?s ?leadership, enthusiasm, energy and pioneering vision, the WBC held its forty sixth annual Convention in Cheng Du in 2008. In that groundbreaking event, the WBC and Don King Productions coordinated to hold the first ever professional boxing matches there, which generated immediate and widespread interest.?

The story said ?The seed planted flourished and blossomed. In 2012, Xiong Zhao Zhong became China's first World Champion winning the WBC's minimum weight crown against Mexico's Javier Martinez in the City of Kunming. And...Kunming has been chosen as the location for this year's World Boxing Council Convention which will be in November.?

It concluded the report by stating that ?There's a Chinese saying that the most important part of a journey is the first step. With this event the third milestone has been accomplished, the fourth is awaited and many more will certainly follow. ?
