Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Manny Pacquiao has been talked about for more than five years now. The questions of "When will they fight?" has been asked a million times already.

For five plus years, boxing fans held their breath. For five plus years, boxing fans grew accustomed to Mayweather and Pacquiao facing different opponents and not each other. For five plus years, they anticipated, read and monitored online the endless list of articles on why they are fighting and why they are not fighting.

Today, the long wait for hardcore and casual fans of boxing has ended. Mayweather Jr. announced through his social media accounts that he will be fighting Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd in Las Vegas.

"What the world has been waiting for has arrived. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao on May 2, 2015 is a done deal. I promised the fans we would get this done and we did. We will make history on May 2nd. Don't miss it. This is the signed contract from both fighters," posted the undefeated welterweight and super welterweight champ.

Mayweather Jr. then accompanied the statement with what looks like a signed contract by the two fighters.

Pacquiao also posted a photo of the said signed contract on his Instagram account and stated that, "Finally he sign(ed) the contract so the fight is on, this is what I'm talking about that I sign(ed) already before, I'm just explaining to the fans and to prove that I'm not lying, I have the fear of the Lord, so this is it! The fight is on, fans you deserve it, thank you. To God be all the glory. "

Top Rank Boxing, who promotes Pacquiao and Mayweather's Mayweather Promotions then followed with their own official announcement of what will be projected as boxing's richest bout via social media.

Both fighters will be battling at the 147 pound weight limit of the welterweight division at The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and broadcasted live via Pay-Per-View all over the world.

Boxing fans, the long wait is over. "The Fight" is on.
