
WBC PRESIDENT SULAIMAN APPROVES VACANT NABF TITLE FIGHT FOR DONAIRE

World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman has effectively approved a battle for the vacant North American Boxing Federation super bantamweight title between former five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire and any of the top ten contenders.
Sulaiman told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that he is looking forward to the ring return of Donaire and is ?ninety percent sure of being in the Philippines for the fight? scheduled for March 28 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Sulaiman said he had spoken to NABF president Duane Ford and added, ?we are trying to support the promotion? which is a joint undertaking of ALA Promotions and the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN.
Sulaiman told the Standard, Donaire can choose a rated opponent fron Mexico, the United States or Canada.
In the January 2015 ratings the top ten contenders are: 1 Horacio Garcia, 2 Rey Vargas, MEX 3 Jesse Magdaleno, NV (Junior) 4 Luis Rosa, PR 5 Joseph Diaz, Jr, 6 Tomas Rojas, MEX7 Hugo Cazares, EX 8 Cesar Seda, PR 9 Roman Morales, CA 10 Manuel Avila, CA.
