Concepcion was coming off a 3rd round technical decision against talented Filipino southpaw Eden Sonsona on Viva Sports top rated boxing show ?The Main Event? last July 26, 2014 while Rasmanudin had lost his last three fights before facing Concepcion.

The 27 year old Indonesian with a record of 18-8-3 with 9 knockouts had lost by a twelve round unanimous decision to Waldo Sabu last October 26, dropped an eight round decision to Thailand?s Mike Tawatchai on September 10, 2014 and suffered a 4th round knockout against China?s Qiu Xiao Jun in a clash for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title on May 16, last year.

Concepcion who has a record of 33-6-2 with 19 knockouts lost a golden opportunity to win the WBO world featherweight title when he had champion Steve Luevano in trouble but hit him after the bell had sounded and was disqualified by referee Jay Nady.

In his second attempt to win a world title Concepcion dropped Juan Manuel ?Juanma? Marquez at the end of the opening round but was himself dropped and suffered a 2nd round TKO on July 10, 2010.

The 26 year old Sabaupan was dropped in the opening round by Geisler AP but quickly retaliated to score a 3rd round knockout to score his fourth win in a row after dropping a unanimous ten round decision to Ricardo Dominguez in Sinaloa, Mexico after losing by a 9th round TKO to Marvin Quintero in a IBF lightweight title eliminator on April 21, 2012.
