Former World Boxing Council super flyweight Silver champion Silvester Lopez faces WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental champion Qiu Xiao Jun in the main event in Kunming, China in a five-title fight card on February 22.

The 27 year old Lopez from the stable of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde has a record of 23-9-2 with 17 knockouts while the 24 year old Jun has a record of 14-2 with 6 knockouts.

Lopez is coming off an impressive 7th round knockout of previously undefeated Rex Wao in a WBC International bantamweight title fight after dropping Wao in the opening round. The win followed an 8th round TKO loss to talented, undefeated and bigger and stronger Mexican Rey Vargas in a ten round bout in Mexico last November 11.

Vargas who is 24 years old had a record of 21-0 with 18 knockouts entering the ring and won the WBC Youth super bantamweight Silver title.

Lopez had also dropped a twelve round unanimous decision to Alexis Boureima Kabore in a clash for the WBC Youth bantamweight Silver title in Burkina Faso on September 5 last year.
The 24 year old Qiu Xiao Jun has a record of 14-2 with 6 knockouts and won his last fight on September 8 with a sensational 1st round knockout of Russia?s Ruslan Berchuk in a WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental title fight.

Jun had earlier won the title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Filipino southpaw Jonathan Baat on March 28, 2014 and then retained the crown with a 4th round knockout of Indonesia?s Rasmanudin on May 16 last year.

The Chinese fighter also won the WBC Youth Interim title with a unanimous ten round decision over Jason Cooper on February 5 last year.

Another Filipino on the card will be female minimum weight Gretchen Abaniel, the veteran with a record of 15-6 with 6 knockouts who will clash with China?s comparatively inexperienced minimum weight Cai Zongju (3-1, 1 KO) for the WBC Women?s International 105lb title.
