Filipino southpaw Mark Anthony Geraldo has lost by a lopsided twelve round decision in an IBF super flyweight title eliminator against Puerto Rico?s McJoe Arroyo at the El San Juan Resort and Casino in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

The 29 year old Arroyo was in command of the fight and dropped the 23 year old Geraldo in the 8th round with the frustrated Geraldo deducted a point in the final round.

Two of the three judges had Arroyo winning by a margin of 119-107 while the third judge had the Puerto Rican ahead 118-108.
With the win the No. 2 ranked McJoe Arroyo improved his unbeaten record to 16-0 with 8 knockouts and is now in line to face champion Zolani Tete of South Africa sometime next year.

Geraldo who was ranked No. 9 by the IBF dropped to 31-5-3 with 14 knockouts and saw his nine fight win-streak end with the loss to Arroyo.

Arroyo is the twin brother of McWilliams Arroyo who scored a stunning 2nd round knockout over previously undefeated Filipino Froilan ?Sniper? Saludar last June 19 to earn a title shot after McJoe scored an 11th round TKO victory over former world champion Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez last June 14 to earn the title shot.

However, McWilliams Arroyo dropped a split decision to Thailand?s Amnat Ruenroeng last September 10.

Geraldo was coming off a six round unanimous decision over Mexico?s Efrain Perez whom he dropped in the third round of a Top Rank card in Macau last February 19 but had earlier lost a competitive fight against Thailand's talented Oleydong Sithsamerchai in clash for the WBC International super flyweight title on July 29, 2011.

Geraldo won the WBO Asia Pacific Youth title with a ten round majority decision over another promising Filipino Jerwin Ancajas on March 17, 2012.
