The Philippines No. 2 ranked super flyweight Daryl ?Flash? Basadre has scored a sensational 8th round knockout win over previously unbeaten Thai KO artist Yosindaeng Jor Chaijinda in Kanagawa, Japan to grab the vacant WBC Youth bantamweight crown.

Boxing writer Rey Danseco reported that Basadre (14-1-1, 10 KO?s) sent Chaijinda (6-1, 4 KO?s) dropped the Thai three times en route to the 8th round knockout, making Basadre the first fighter to stop Chaijinda.

Danseco quoted the 22 year old Basadre who said after the fight, ?Thank you Lord God for the victory tonight, I won the fight.?

Basadre?s manager, youthful Jim Claude Manangquil who also manages a few other promising fighters in General Santos City, told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports before the fight that Basadre had trained hard and had some excellent sparring with former world-rated Drian Francisco.

Manangquil told us he expected Basadre to win handily.

It was Basadre?s second visit to Japan having been previously hired as a sparring partner of former WBC light flyweight champion Naoya Inoue and ex-WBC flyweight king Akira Yaegashi from September to October this year.

Asian Boxing Scene also reported that Filipino Featherweights Mark Gil Melligen and Neil John Tabanao fought and won in the undercard of the Basadre-Chaijinda title fight with both boxers scoring 1st round knockouts.

Melligen (21-4-1, 12 KOs) of Bacoloc City stopped Kaosamutto Pajaijimu, 124.75 lbs, of Thailand in 2:50 mark of the first round while Tabanao (10-0, 7 KOs) crushed Tienchai Sor Kanitsorn (0-4), at 2:04, also of the first round.
