
PACQUIAO THE PEOPLE'S POUND-FOR-POUND KING IF FLOYD DUCKS HIM AGAIN

"The networks are already talking. I am now more optimistic that the fight is going to happen than I was three or four years ago. I am talking to responsible people who are in touch with the Mayweather guy," said Arum as quoted by bleacherreport.com.  "All of these people have the ability to move it ahead and make it happen. If it happens, we're considering the Cowboys Stadium. It is the only venue which has the capacity to host a big show such as the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight."
Before his fight against Chris Algieri in Macau, an advertisement for Foot Locker was released which celebrates a likely scenario where the Filipino boxer would fight the American, Mayweather.
Pacquiao was asked about the prospect of fighting Mayweather in which he replied, "I would like it to happen. I've told him my phone line is open 24 hours, seven days a week."
The latest update on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao megafight is that some well-known and powerful personalities in the boxing world are trying to make the super bout happen in 2015 as disclosed by Top Rank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Arum. According to Arum, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves is involved in the negotiations and that the networks, HBO Boxing for Pacquiao and CBS/Showtime for Mayweather Jr., are already talking.
But until now we have not heard personally from Mayweather himself who instead posted in his Instagram a video of Pacquiao knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez.  He used the social media several times in maligning the fighting solon whose career has been revived with two impressive victories over Timothy Bradley and Chris Algieri.
Mayweather must have inherited Muhammad Ali's antics of making fun of his foes.  But "The Greatest" that he is, Ali faced the best fighters of his division and did not duck anyone even at the twilight of his career.
Mayweather is the pound-for-pound king but the title is hollow unless he fights and win against the only eight-division world champion.  If still Floyd crowns himself as "The King of Alibis" then Manny will be bestowed with the title "The People's Pound-for-Pound King."
