Danny Nelson of the United States will be the third man in the ring when lightweight champion Terence Crawford defends his title against No. 1 contender Raymundo Beltran at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday, Manila Time.

WBO president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel announced the appointment of Nelson as referee and named Adalaide Byrd and William Lerch of the United States as judges along with Cesar Ramos of Puerto Rico as judges with John Duggan as fight supervisor.

It will mark Crawford?s second defense of the WBO 135 pound title when he beat Ricky Burns by a unanimous decision last March and then scored a spectacular 9th round TKO victory over previously undefeated former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa in June.

It will be Crawford?s second defense in a row in his native Nebraska.

The WBO champion is unbeaten with a record of 23-0 with 16 knockouts while Beltran has a record 29-6-1 with 17 knockouts.

Beltran lost a hugely controversial split decision to Burns in a title fight on September 7, 2013 in which Burns was dropped in the 8th round and suffered a broken jaw in the 2nd round with a titanium plate inserted during a subsequent operation.

Beltran was at one time a sparring partner of reigning WBO welterweight champion and ?Fighter of the Decade? who retained his title with a six knockdown, near shutout decision over previously undefeated WBO light welterweight champion Chris Algieri in Macau in which no less than WBO president Valcarcel was the fight supervisor.
