Pacquiao dispatches Algieri easily and again hounded by Mayweather questions

Macau - As fight time in Macau, China draws near, Manny Pacquiao was almost a 10:1 favorite to beat Chris Algieri in some of the betting stations in Las Vegas.
They were right. Pacquiao was simply too much of a skilled boxer and too powerful of a puncher for the young and previously undefeated Chris Algieri.
The Filipino champ successfully defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Algieri with six knockdowns, a battered face and a very lopsided score of 119-103, 119-103 and 120-102.
Algieri was down but not out, electing to stand up after every knockdown, two of the knockdowns he questioned and protested to no avail, blaming it on a wet spot in the ring.
He showed heart but that was all he was capable of as he had to be in survival mode against a rampaging enemy who was hungry for a knockout stoppage.
Pacquiao erased Algieri's perfect record, took away his opponent's much-talked about jab and ended the year by beating another unbeaten fighter. (He defeated Tim Bradley Jr. in Las Vegas last June.)
He also placed himself yet again as the only viable opponent to the recognized best boxer in the world - Floyd Mayweather Jr. - his rival outside of the ring and the holder of two of the belts in the same welterweight class.
It is the fight that everyone wants to see, both those who follow boxing regularly and those that do not. It is the fight that everyone is interested at.
And Pacquiao joked about it, as he imitated his most recent TV commercial, that clearly pokes fun on Mayweather's alleged reluctance to fight him.
"He's going to fight me? Yes, Yes." Pacquiao has been doing that all week.
And then he turned serious and echoed the voices and desires of everyone, in advocating for the fight that will probably be the richest bout in history.
"The people deserved that fight. The fans deserve that fight.I think it's time to make that fight happen," he stated after his dominating performance against Algieri at the packed Cotai Arena inside The Venetian Resort in this entertainment capital of the Far East.
This has been the most vocal that Pacquiao and his camp has been about the Mayweather fight- and with big reasons. It has the potential to become the biggest earner in the history of the sport.
"It's been a long time that I want that fight. It's been a long time that I've been preparing mentally for it."
It has been five years to be exact and despite rumors during fight week that people are working behind the scenes to make it happen, Pacquiao admitted that all the decision is not entirely upon him.
"It all depends on my promoter. I am a boxer, my job is to prepare and train," as he pointed to Bob Arum.
"You wouldn't believe how many times we were questioned about it. I say enough is enough. Let's get it done, let's make the fight in the first six months of next year," Arum replied and ended all questions about the subject.
Pacquiao is expected to fight in America, probably in Las Vegas again in the first half of the year, and it will be another waiting game for his fans to see who that other opponent may be.
Fans hoped that it's finally Mayweather Jr.
