GENARO ?GINO? RODRIGUEZ TO REFEREE PACQUIAO-ALGIERI TITLE FIGHT WITH THREE AMERICAN JUDGES

World Boxing Organization president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel has appointed Genaro ?Gino? Rodriguez as the third man in the ring for the WBO welterweight title defense of ?Fighter of the Decade? and super champion Manny Pacquiao against junior welterweight champion, the undefeated Chris Algieri of Huntington, New York on Sunday morning Manila Time at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macau.

Valcarcel himself will serve as fight supervisor.

Rodriguez was the referee in the bantamweight title bout when Tomoki Kameda sdcored a split decision win over Alejandro Hernandez of Mexico last November 1.

He was also third man in the ring when Terence Crawford scored a 9th round TKO over Yuriorkis Gamboa last June 28 and was also the referee when Puerto Rico?s McWilliams Arroyo stopped previously unbeaten Filipino flyweight Froilan Saludar in the second round on June 19, 2014.

The three judges named by Valcarcel are all Americans ? Michael Pernick, Levi Martinez and Patrick Morley.

In another world title fight WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko of the Ukraine will defend his title against No.1 ranked Chonlartan Piriyapinyo of Thailand.

It will be Lomachenko?s first defense of the title with Luis Pabon of Puerto Rico named as referee while the judges will be Michael Pernick and Patrick J. Morley from the United States and Filipino judge Salven Lagumbay.

In a WBO flyweight eliminator China?s, two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming who is undefeated in five fights as a pro with one knockout, will battle Thailand?s Pacquiao look-alike and Oriental champion Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym who is unbeaten in 27 fights with 2 draws and 12 wins by way of knockouts.

The referee will be Danrex Tapdasan while the judges will be Levi Martinez, Luis Pabon and Salven Lagumbay with Leon Panoncillo as fight supervisor.
