NBA -- Mavericks rally from 24 down, stun Kings, 106-98

CHICAGO -- Dirk Nowitzki achieved another milestone in his decorated NBA career on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center where he surpassed Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon in the all-time scoring list.
The 7-foot German scored 23 points to bring his overall total to 26,953 points and bumping Olajuwon off the No.9 spot. Nowitzki, who also grabbed seven rebounds and dished three helpers, is now the all-time leading scorer among all foreign-born NBA players.
It was double the pleasure for Mavs' 19,663 home fans in attendance as they watched Dallas overhaul a 24-point deficit and improve to 5-3 for the season.
The Kings came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, and after taking a 32-18 lead after one quarter of play, they looked primed to blow the hosts out of their own building. Sacramento stepped on the gas in the second period and upped their cushion to 44:20 with still 8:22 left before the break.
But the Mavs woke up and went on a 58-28 burst that turned a 24-point hole into a 78-72 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Five other Mavs finished with double figures in points. Chandler Parsons had 16, Monta Ellis punched in 16 while Chandler Parsons and Brandon Wright each had 14. Devin Harris added 12 points off the bench.
Rudy Gay led the Kings with 26 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while center DeMarcus Cousins pitched in 16 and 11 boards. But after their sterling start, the Kings missed 40 of their 72 field goals, including 10 from 3-point range. (Homer D. Sayson).
