Southpaw Michael Dasmarinas will fight IBO super flyweight champion Lwandile Sityatha for the South African?s title in East London, South Africa on November 30.

Sityatha is the 26 year old fighter who won the title by a highly controversial split decision over Edrin ?The Sting? Dapudong last July 18 which was roundly criticized even by the South African media.

The promoter promised Dapudong?s manager Manny Pinol a rematch but that hasn?t materialized and XABA Promotions has forwarded a contract to Dasmarinas for a title fight at the International Convention Center in East London.

Dasmarinas who pulled out of a fight card at the Makati Square Arena last Saturday after the IBO title fight offer came in is a 22 year old lefty with an impressive record of 18-1 with 11 knockouts.

Sityatha has a record of 17?3-1 with 7 knockouts.

Internationally acclaimed referee Bruce McTavish who helped save the Dapudong fight after Pinol threatened to pull-out over the appointment of a South African referee told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that Sityatha is ?a good counter-puncher but isn?t that good a fighter.?

Pinol himself admitted he made a tactical mistake by telling Dapudong to take the decision out of the judges hands and instead go for a knockout which ultimately didn?t work.

Filipino matchmaker Art Monis said the plan is for Dasmarinas to travel to South Africa one week before the fight along with his trainer and former OPBF champion Tacy Macalos so he could get acclimatized following the long flight.

Dasmarinas is coming off a 6th round TKO in a scheduled ten round bout against Indonesia?s Oscar Raknafa last Septemberv 21 after earlier scoring an eight round decision over Japan?s Hayato Kimura.
