Five title fights banner an exciting fight card at the Makati Cinema Square on Saturday under the United Boxing Promotions of Edgar De Castro and Ryuta Kato of Japan.
In the main event WBC Asia light flyweight champion Richard Claveras who is undefeated with a record of 9-0-2 with his nine wins all coming by way of knockouts defends his title against rugged JC Francisco whose record is not a very impressive 6-8-3 with 2 knockouts but is a known fighter who held tough Ronnelle Ferreras to an 8th round split draw last August 22.
Claveras, on the other hand, scored a smashing 1st round knockout of Thailand?s Veeradej Manopkangchang also on the same date.
In a fight that may well steal the thunder from the main event, hard-hitting Ardin Diale defends his Philippine flyweight title against a recognized puncher in Jenie Boy Buca.
Diale who is coming off a 4th round TKO win over previously unbeaten youngster Renerio Arizala in Taal, Batangas last October 4 has a record of 24-9-3 with 11 knockouts and has experience on his side.
But Buca who has eight knockouts in eight wins with only one loss is certain to give Diale all he could handle in a clash of big punchers is coming off an 8th round TKO victory over Raymond Dayham last June 28.
The other title fights on the card of the fast emerging United Boxing Promotions, matchmaker Art Monis has lined up a Philippine Boxing Federation super bantamweight title fight between slugger Rey Juntilla and toughie Jhonny Gemino, a Luzon Professional Boxing Association super flyweight championship between talented Michael Dasmarinas and veteran Ruther del Castillo and another PBF championship in the lightweight division between promising Al Rivera who sparred with junior lightweight world contender Michael Farenas before he left to continue training at the Wild Card Gym of Freddie Roach for his November 15 IBF title eliminator against Jose Pedraza of Puerto Rico.
