World Boxing Council minimum weight champion Oswaldo Novoa of Mexico looked powerful in a public workout prior to his title defense against unbeaten Thai challenger Wanheng Menayothin in Bangkok on Thursday.

The WBC reported that Novoa was ?bursting with power? during the training session for the Thai press with the fight creating ?a lot of anticipation? and a packed crowd likely to watch the contest.

According to the WBC, Novoa ?didn?t show any kind of fatigue or jet lag, confirming his excellent shape.?

The Mexican who is 32 years old has a record of 14-4-1 with 9 knockouts while Menayothin who is 29 has an impressive record of 35-0 with 11 knockouts.

The Thai won the vacant WBC International title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Filipino Crison Omayao on November 11, 2011.

On the other hand Novoa won the title with a 5th round TKO over China?s Xiong Zhao Zhong on February 5, 2014 and in his last title defense forced Nicaragua?s Alcides Martinez to retire in the 8th round..
