Reigning Asian Boxing Federation champion Adones Aguelo also known as Aguelo A. Singwangcha will defend the ABF super featherweight title against Indonesian Elly Ray on November 11, 2014 before hometown fans at the Maasin City Gym.
Aguelo won his ABF crown by 8th round TKO against Bonnie Makiling in the main event of the boxing card on September 20, 2014 at the Talisay City Sports Complex.
Aguelo now sports the name of his Thai boxing manager and promoter Naris Singwangcha. The said Thailander has been supporting the promotion of Aguelo fights including his stablemates.
Rex Wakee Salud International matchmaker Willie Flores came to Maasin last Monday to arrange a boxing card which includes another hometown boxer Michael Kaibigan.
In his last fight, Ray won over fellow Indonesian Juniston Simbolon last March 10 by a 10-round unanimous decision. Ray was a former Indonesia featherweight champion winning over Sampoadi on April 14, 2012 on a 12-round unanimous verdict.
Aguelo is the top prize fighter now in the Brix Flores stable. He battered Mexican favorite Sergio Thompson in a WBC eliminator before homecrowd in Mexico and fought to the finish. Unfortunately he failed to convince the judges.
Aguelo started his amateur boxing career with the Maasin City Sports Council before he was discovered by the Flores stable and the Wakee Salud promotion.
