Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Commissioner Angel Bautista and boxing division chief flew to Bangkok today to help facilitate in bringing back the remains of fallen boxer Lito Sisnorio.
Bautista, in an interview with the media prior to departure, also said that they will try to locate Thai Panya Prachakorn, known as a conduit to Filipino matchmakers in what amounts to human trafficking in bringing boxers to Thailand to serve as cannon-fodders to Thai prospects.
Cruz, who is also set to depart for a WBC-sponsored medical congress end of this month, has been at the forefront of the country's bid to improve the health standards among boxers.
North Cotabato Governor Emmanuel Pinol, who was supposed to leave yesterday, is slated to leave today following his failure to get a confirmed flight to Bangkok.
Sisnorio's registered manager Jemmel Contayoso hails from Kidapawan City, hence, the fighter had spent most of his fighting days in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.
