Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao will be flying from Los Angeles to San Antonio, Texas on April 8, some six days before his scheduled 12-rounder against Mexican Jorge Solis at the Alamodome.

"It's confirmed, he's flying to Texas on April 8," said a source at the Wild Card Gym, who noted that Pacquiao's flight may have a stopover in Dallas.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has reportedly planned on bringing Pacquiao to one of the games of the San Antonio Spurs upon arrival in Texas, to introduce him to the largely Mexican crowd in the area.

After sparring against three different sparmates the other day, Pacquiao did not spar yesterday, opting to do some gymwork which consisted of five rounds of shadow-boxing, 11 rounds of punchmitts, 10 minutes in double-end bag, 10 minutes in speedball, another 5 rounds of shadow-boxing, then topped it off with a series of abdominal exercises.

Pacquiao started his workout at 1PM yesterday and walked out at around 3 PM after a terrific two-hour heavy workout.

"The only thing he needs to do right now is put himself in the right frame of mind, because it seems his mind is fully occupied with politics at this time," said a source.

But before checking out the Wild Card Gym, Pacquiao and trainers Justin Fortune and Buboy Fernandez made sure they kept track of Pacquiao's weight, and the Filipino icon was at 134 lbs before proceeding to a nearby Thai restaurant just outside the Wild Card parking area.

Pacquiao ordered beef brocolli, steam salmon with brocolli, duck with brocolli, sweet and sour chicken, tom-yam soup, fried fish, and had mineral water, while most members of his entourage opted for softdrinks.

"Labang-laban na talaga si Manny. Grabe ang resistensya nya. Hindi talaga naubusan ng lakas. Parang robocop," said another source, who is a constant fixture in most of Pacquiao's fights.
