World Boxing Organization welterweight titlist Manny Pacquiao cannot make it to today?s Palarong Pambansa opening rites.

Saying his newly-born son to be Christened ?Israel? is still in incubator, Pacquiao, in a text message to this writer, offered his sincerest apology to Palaro host, Laguna Gov. E.R. Ejercito, other guests, athletes, coaches and delegation officials for not making it to the colorful ceremony.

Pacquiao?s text message said.

May the best athletes win!? Pacquiao said.

Jinkee. Nakalabas nap o siya sa ospital at kasalukuyang nagpapalakas,? he said.

?I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those offered prayers para maging safe ang panganganak ni Jinkee,? he said.

Pacquiao, along with former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, Gov. E.R.?s uncle, would have to lead a bevy of sports, entertainment and political personalities invited to grace today?s occasion.

The Filipino boxing icon would have also to anchor the torch relay and lit the Olympic urn during the opening ceremony.
