"Good. Thank you, let's go and fight"!
"This was Filipino sensation Manny Pacquiao's reaction To Timothy Bradley's latest statements, urging him to be at his best when they fight in a grudge meeting on April 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
"Yeah, he (Bradley) will get what he wants. He will be fighting the best Manny Pacquiao in a long time because I will be stepping top that ring well-prepared and very determined to prove to all and sundry who really won our first encounter two years ago," the only man to win four world lineal championships eight world titles in as many divisions told this writer in a long distance call.
"I have been training long and hard for this fight to win back the title that was unceremoniously taken away from me and I intend to do that for all the boxing fans who also thought I won the first fight and, especially to my countrymen," the 35-year old former pound-for-pound king said.
Bradley, an undefeated American from Palm Springs in California in 31 fights, 12 of them via stoppage, was reported to have said telling Pacquiao not to show compassion when fight night comes because "I want the best Manny Pacquiao in the world and I want to beat him."
"Don't show no compassion. Don't show me none of that," Bradley, who beat the Filipino via a highly questionable split decision June 9, 2012 to wrest the WBO welterweight championship, told www.boxingscene.com in an interview.
"I want to fight the best. I want to put on a great show for all the fans on pay-per-view," he declared. " I want to get what I didn't get in the first fight, and that's the credit I beat Manny Pacquiao. That's it. That's that."
"Same with me, he doesn't have to tell me that. I always fight for the fans, to make them happy that's why they love me. And that's I intend to do on April 12," Pacquiao, for his part, remarked.
"Not only that, I will make it a point to remain standing when the final bell rings and with the crown on my head because that's also what the boxing world want," he stressed.
"I know Bradley is also preparing hard, like me, he also wants to prove something. Well and good, ibig sabihin laban din sya. So, maganda yan para sa mga boxing fan, matutuwa sila," he said.
Pacquiao expressed satisfaction on the way his preparation at the Wild Card Gym has been going the past two weeks, adding that his training team, headed by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach, has been covering all bases in their efforts to answer everything Bradley is expected to dish out.
"Maganda ang sparing, magagaling ang mga sparring mates ko, kung minsan tatlo sila in one day. Sometimes, apat pa, " he said. "The other aspects of training, especially that's on strength and conditioning, is great. Justin (Fortune) is doing great."
"Ang maipapangako ko lang kay Bradley and all our fans is, what they will be watching comes fight night is the Manny Pacquiao of old, strong, fast, unrelenting. The boxer that people learned to admire and love because of his never-say-die fighting style," he said.
