Mares TKO's Allanic!

What was shaping up to be a great fight between Abner Mares of Mexico and Filipino Robert Allanic was stopped at the start of the ninth round due to big cuts on Allanic's left eye.
The ringside physician ruled that Allanic's cut were too severe for him to continue, although the Filipino would have wanted no less than to come out for the ninth and tenth rounds.
Trainer Edito Villamor, reporting from ringside, said that 'it was a good show between the two fighters.'
