Just moments ago, Philboxing.com has been informed that undefeated ALA Boys Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista and Alex John 'Bazooka' Banal will train with the legendary Oscar De la Hoya in Puerto Rico as the three fighters prepare for their respective bouts on May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The historic event, dubbed 'The World Awaits,' is being considered as the biggest event in the history of boxing, which has already broken tickets records in Las Vegas history.

Golden Boy Promotions vice-president Eric Gomez called up Cebu sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer today to confirm that tomorrow, Oscar De la Hoya will formally announce that the title elimination bout between WBO no. 1 ranked Bautista and no. 2 Sergio Medina is definitely on, as well as the inclusion of Banal in the card.

Gomez also reported that De la Hoya has confirmed that 'Boom Boom' and Banal will join him in Puerto Rico to train under two-time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach.

"They are expected to leave middle of March," informed Aldeguer, whose son Michael manages both Bautista and Banal.

Indeed, this piece of good news is great for Philippine boxing.
