ALA Boy Robert Allanic will arrive in Los Angeles, USA tomorrow, confident that he has what it takes to carve his name in the highly-competitive American fight scene when he tangles with unbeaten Mexican Abner Mares on March 2 at the New Alhambra in Philadelphia.

Allanic left tonight with trainer Edito Villamor for the US via Hongkong, and will immediately proceed to their apartment in Los Angeles.

Tomorrow, the Cebuano fighter will undergo all medical requirements for the fight, before flying to the fight location.

Mares (10-0, 6 KO's) who represented Mexico in the 2004 Athens Olympics, hails from California by way of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Allanic (15-2, 7 KO's), trained at the famed ALA Gym even before the notice to fight Mares was received by his management team.

To prepare for Mares, Allanic sparred with Franklin Albia, Gerald Nietes, Weng Haya, and Gil Melligen.

"I know he is undefeated, but I am coming to shine. I hope to win against him so I can keep coming to the United States," said Allanic in an interview at Saturday's 'Moment of Truth' card.
