CHICAGO -- The Washington Wizards achieved a franchise milestone Monday night by capturing a .500 winning percentage for the first time since November 3, 2009.

Trevor Ariza sank 8-of-9 field goals for 24 points to lead the Wizards over the Orlando Magic at the Verizons Center in Washington, a victory that pushed the team's record to 9-9.

John Wall finished with 16 points and 13 assists while Nene added 14 and six boards. The Wizards broke a close game wide open with a 30-point second quarter. They also outscored the Magic 46-39 in the second half.

"I thought they came out and they were determined to win the game, start to finish. I'm really proud of these guys," Wizards head coach Randy Wittman told the Washington Post.

After a woeful 2-7 start, the Wizards have won 7-of-9.

Arron Aflalo paced the Magic with 21 points while Maurice Harkless chipped in 16. Rookie sensation Victor Oladipo added 13 as Orlando dropped to 6-11. (Homer D. Sayson)
