Boxing Icon Manny Pacquiao is fulfilling his promise to visit and help super-typhoon victims and ease their predicament. Pacquiao and his group, made up of his congressional staff, wife, Sarangani Vice Gov. Jinkee, boxing team and family members flew by helicopter yesterday morning to visit eight towns in Leyte and Samar provinces that were severely hit by typhoon Yolanda three weeks ago.
Pacquiao said by way ot text message last Friday.
?This is my way of expressing my gratitude to our kabayans who, despite their sufferings and lack of money had put up banners wishing me good luck in my fight, filled the stadiums to rafters during the fight, then put up banners again congratulating me for my victory,? he said.
Pacquiao said. ?I have long been trying to squeeze time tro visit the affected areas, but I just failed to get time because of my preparation for the fight,? he said. ?Pagdating ko sanalast week puede na eh pumutok naman yung balitang the BIR has frozen by bank accounts as well as some of my properties, so di ako natuloy.?
