Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez heightened their training as they prepare for their superfight dubbed "The One" on September 14, 2013 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Reports had it that Alvarez was doing good and was disposing his sparring partners left and right. That Canelo already knocked off four sparring opponents and had changed eight or nine fighters.

Rene Umanzor of BoxingScene quoted Chepo Reynoso: "One of the sparring partners broke a rib, two others were injured, one of them injured a shoulder and another was knocked out. So it's been very good."

Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KOs) will be up against the best fighter of the world pound-for-pound. He is more aggressive and youth is one his side. Plus the size factor which will work to his advantage.

But the Mayweather camp was unfazed against what many boxing analysts considered as his toughest test. The number one fighter of the world has experience on his side and has fought some of the best fighters of his era.

Mayweather (44-0, 26 KOs) said he had no problems making the 152-pound catch weight. He had never weighed more than 151 pounds in all the fights of his boxing career.

Josh Slagter reported his gym routine: "Get his hands wrapped by cut man Rafael Garcia, work the hand pads with his uncle Roger Mayweather, some body shots with Nate Jones, then some heavy bag work, shadow boxing with hand weights, push-ups, sit-ups and various other exercises."

Father-trainer Mayweather, Sr. commented that Alvarez will rehydrate up to more than 20 pounds after the weigh-in and the probable 25-pound advantage will work on their favor.

"He's going to be very strong with that weight," Mayweather Sr. declared. "He's going to be strong, but the food he puts in his body, the liquids he puts in, all that stuff going to jiggle around. Can't take it. I've seen one fight (Trout) and that was enough to see what can be done. He got tired. He got winded. Trust me, it won't be 12 rounds."

But hunger for success is on the side of Canelo and the fan base which in multitude was favoring the 23-year-old Guadalajara, Mexico native. It was evidenced during their eleven-city tour that fans drove in to flock the younger fighter. He has three belts in his possession, the WBC, WBA and The Ring light-middleweight championships in addition to his good looks.

The 36-year-old Mayweather is the WBC welterweight champion, the WBA Super superwelterweight champion and The Ring number one pound-for-pound fighter. He is heavily favored to win against Alvarez by several boxing experts.
