Top Filipino promoter Sammy 'Don King' Gello-ani informed the media just an hour ago that the planned March 4 'World Cup' of boxing has been moved to middle of this year from its planned March 4 playdate to give more time to negotiate with the managers of Daniel Ponce De Leon and Jhonny Gonzales.

"Unable to reach an agreement with the managers of WBO Champions Ponce de Leon and Jhonny Gonzales in time for the March 4 schedule, we have decided, together with Golden Boy Promotions, to postpone the said World Cup championship boxing," Gello-ani stressed in a message released to the media.

"Nevertheless, we will make sure that the World Cup will still take place in the Philippines," Gello-ani added.

Good news, however, was learned today as Gello-ani also announced that the WBO superfly duel between reigning champ Fernando Montiel and Z Gorres will now take place earlier on February 24 still in Cebu City.
