It?s all systems go for the Genesis ?Azukal? Servania- Konosuke Tomiyama clash tonight in the undercard of Juan Francisco Estrada-Milan Melindo main event at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Casino and Resort in Macau.
Widescreens will be set-up at the lobby of Bacolod Government Center for the live streaming of Servania?s fight, current WBO-OPBF super bantamweight champion from Brgy. Pta. Tay-Tay.
The 21-year-old ALA gym standout aims at improving his record of 20 wins with 8KOs at 122 lbs division wherein Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux holds the WBA/WBO belt while fellow Pinoy Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is currently ranked No. 2 in the world.
Servania?s fight against the veteran bantamweight Tomiyama (23-5-1, 8 KO?s) of Japan tonight is his toughest test of his career towards his dream to become a world champion.
?We have to show our support to Servania because he is from this city and an upcoming world champion,? Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella, who will be at the ringside during the said fight.
He added that as far as the future of city?s boxing, he firmly believe that the city ?will have more champions? in the years to come.
With Negrense world champions Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes and Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo having earned their seats and co-regional titlist ?King? Arthur Villanueva making waves in boxing history, Servania?s victory tonight will fortify his quest to join the long list of Filipino champions.
Meanwhile, the undefeated WBO Intercontinental Flyweight champion ?El Metodico? Melindo (29-0, 12KOs) will be challenging Estrada ? the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight titleholder.
Joining Melindo and Servania in their quest for glory in Macau are trainer Edito Villamor, assistant trainer Robert Labanza, team?s nutritionist Abet Biagan and assistant trainer Michael Domingo.(Watchmen Daily Journal)
