Amid the scheduled international media tour blitz of an anticipated slambang fight between Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao and Brandon ?Bam- Bam? Rios, a Cebuano fast rising boxer, Dodie Boy ?Dugong Kampeon? Penalosa, Jr., is also very eager to have at least a share of the spotlight and climb back the ring on November 24 at The Venetian Macao.

So said Diosdado ?Dodie Boy? Penalosa, Sr., the father of Penalosa, who himself has two world championship belts tucked to his waists during his prime as world boxing champion.

The elder Penalosa revealed that the fighting congressman from Sarangani, Pacquiao, has assured him that his son will be fitted as one of the undercards of the November bout that will be held at the Cotai Arena, the same venue where Dodie Boy Jr., (11-0-0, 11 KO's), eked out a come from behind win by knocking out Ngaotawan Sitsaithong last April 6 as part of the supporting cast of the Brian ?The Hawaiian Punch? Viloria-Juan Francisco ?El Gallito? Estrada WBO/WBA flyweight championships.

While the younger Penalosa emerged as the victor that time, Viloria (32-4, 19 KO?s) was dethroned, but another Filipino, Milan ?El Metodico? Melindo (29-0, 12 KO?s) will try to avenge that defeat against the unified champion Estrada (24-2, 18 KO?s) this Saturday also at the posh Macau casino and resort hotel.

The elder Penalosa said his son, who has an unblemished amateur career of twenty-seven wins before turning pro last 2008, will be paired this time to a Mexican boxer, adding Dodie Boy, Jr., has not been skipping his regular workouts.

?We have not been missing workouts, we were already informed that my son will fight as an undercard in Macau for the Pacquiao-Rios bout,? the former boxing champ told this writer in Cebuano.

The father and son tandem will also train with Pacquiao next month in Toril, Davao City where the Filipino lawmaker has built himself a gym that was designed by one of his assistant coaches, Nonoy Neri.

The young Penalosa got his moniker, Dugong Kampeon (Blood of the Champion) as his father was former IBF light flyweight and flyweight champion while his uncle, Gerry Penalosa, once ruled the WBC super- flyweight and WBO bantamweight. His grandfather, Carl, was also a boxing champion in his own right in the 60?s being a light welterweight champion for the Philippines.

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview Cong. Pacquiao revealed that he will have a much longer training for the Rios encounter, stressing, he wanted to prove a point to the fight fans most especially the Filipino people who once dubbed him as the ?Pambansang Kamao (national fist) being the only boxer in history to have won eight world championships in different weight divisions.

His winning streak was halted however when he suffered two straight loses, the most recent was the shocking 6th round KO from the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez in December last year and an earlier controversial split decision loss to the American Tim Bradley.

?Sa Agosto sasabak na tayo sa (in August I will start the) training,? Pacquiao said in a phone interview.

Pacquiao and Rios will start their scheduled International Media Tour series this weekend commencing at The Venetian, Macau after the Estrada-Milendo encounter capping it up with a press conference at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

The duo, along with their celebrated coaches, Freddie Roach and Robert Garcia will be accompanied by Hall of Famer Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank and Edward Tracy, the President and CEO of Sands China Ltd.

The media blitz will also bring the group to Beijing and Singapore, including a guesting at the ESPN studios at Bristol Connecticut, USA.
