Recognizing the achievements and honor brought to the City of Bacolod and province of Negros Occidental, a motorcade for reigning and undefeated WBO minimumweight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo and newly-crowned WBO Asia Pacific titlist ?King? Arthur Villanueva is set today en route the city streets.

Both fighters will first pay courtesy call with Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella before taking the city?s streets for a motorcade.

It was recalled that Toboso-born and Bacolod-raised Sabillo successfully defended his WBO minimumweight title against Colombian challenger Jorle Estrada in the 9th Round during the Pinoy Pride XXI at Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City.

With the victory, Sabillo, has kept his unblemished record of 22 wins with 12 KOs.

After many years of perseverance, Sabillo finally tasted the fruit of his sacrifices with brighter future awaits him. With his style of fighting, he earned lots of applauses from his fans and now a challenge from a fellow champion for unification.

If materialized, this will bring Sabillo upfront the eyes of the boxing world as one of the best fighters, which the Philippines had produced.

On the other hand, Top Prime Stable?s ?King? Arthur (23 wins 13KOs), like Sabillo, also found himself in a limelight of his career following a 4th round stoppage against Mexican counterpart Arturo ?Fuerte? Badillo.

The 24-year-old Bago City-born champion humbly returned the gratitude the Negrenses who supported and prayed for him.

Top Prime Stable manager Rev. Henry Guanzon, meanwhile, felt thankful for his prot?g??s victory. ?Praise God for this win. This is such a great blessing for Arthur who had been trying hard to win his fights,? he said. (Watchmen Daily Journal)
