Pacquiao to play in 1st UNTV Cup at the Big Dome?

Boxing legend and Sarangani representative Manny Pacquiao is known to be a basketball enthusiast aside being a chess and billiards lover. In the past he participated basketball game in the country.

The guessing game is whether he does the same for the 1st UNTV Cup on July 29 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

"Malaking tulong sa promosyon ng liga ang paglahok ni Cong. (Manny) Pacquiao sa 1st UNTV (Basketball) Cup para sa Team Congress-LGU," Gerry Esplana, ex-PBA player and coach of Congress-LGU told to the local media.

Gerry Panghulan, VP for Operation BMPI/UNTV, will supervise the said event while another ex-PBA star and currently Mapua coach Fortunato ?Atoy? Co will act as commissioner and Ed Cordero as assistant commissioner.

CEO and Chairman Breakthrough and Milestones Productios International (BMPI) Inc. 'Kuya" Daniel Razon also said in the press conference and MOA signing last Friday at the Dolce Latte and Gourmet Bakeshop in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City with Col. Agane Adriatico of AFP, Reynaldo Agoncillo of PNP, Joseph Cabanting of Judiciary, Isagani Obispo Jr. of Department of Justice, Mario Matanguhan of PhilHealth and USEC GM Corazon Jimenez of MMDA also in the said affair.


"We do this to promote unity, camaraderie, and healthy living among public servants," said Razon.

"Furthur identify and associate UNTV with public service," he added.

Each team will submit their chosen charitable institution as their beneficiary for this basketball tournament. The champion will be given the privilege to have a One Million Peso grant to their beneficiary. On the other hand, the runner-up will receive Five Hundred Pesos for its chosen beneficiary.-Marlon Bernardino-
