In a one on one talk with the trainer of boxer Jose Emilio Perea (22-2-0 14KO), the well experienced trainer Ernesto Salgado Garcia was very excited to be in the Philippines and gave some insights on his background.

Mr. Garcia has trained one of the best fighters to ever step into the squared circle, which is Juan Manuel Marquez. On the night of Nov. 25, 2006 in Hidalgo Texas the tough upcoming fighter at that time Jimrex Jaca went up against ?El Dinamita? Marquez for the Interim WBO Featherweight Championship.

The fight ended with a devastating knockout in the 9th round by ?El Dinamita? to stop the tough Jaca.

There were many fans who believed Jaca was winning the fight, so the question was asked to Mr. Garcia, Is it true Jaca was winning the fight before he got KO?D? With a chuckle he replied, ?Yes, Marquez always had trouble with southpaw fighters and Jaca was beating Marquez, Nacho and I were concerned, but Marquez caught Jaca with a devastating blow and luckily won the fight.?
Garcia added, we know the game plan to beat Jaca, we trained hard for this fight and after the fight with Marquez, Jaca was never the same fighter as you can see where their careers are now.

The WBO Oriental Light Welterweight Championship will be up for grabs this upcoming May 25 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City in the Pinoy Pride 20 edition.
