MANILA (PNA) - One week after the fall of four-time world champion Nonito Donaire Jr., Philippine boxing tries to bounce back to its feet with an explosive 76-round card presentation by the Shape-Up Boxing Promotions that will feature World Boxing Council Youth Silver bantamweight champion Richard Pumicpic putting on the block his 118-pound crown against Indonesian challenger Junior Bajawa on April 21 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Barangay Tunasan in Muntinlupa City.

The young 23 year-old Pumicpic of Zamboanga, who won the title February last year in Bangkok, and Bajawa, Indonesia?s 118-pound king, face each other in a 10-round scuffle headlining what is expected to be an interesting presentation put up by Baguio City businessman-sportsman Anson Tiu Co, owner of Cooyeesan Hotel, considered as home of Filipino eight-division kingpin Manny Pacquiao while in the Pines city.

Bernabe Concepcion, a former WBC international featherweight champ, battles Boido ?Bulldozer? Simanjuntak, also of Indonesia, in another 10-round co-main event, which according to Co, is the first attempt to restore his former status as a world-beater aborted by misunderstanding with his former handlers.

?Bernabe is still young, a strong puncher and had already shown promise earlier in his career. He told us he wants to stage a comeback to resuscitate his career and, once again, do proud to our country. So we?re giving him that chance,? Co said during Friday?s SCOOP session at the Kamayan Restaurant.

?I would like to thank Muntinlupa Mayor Alvin San Pedro, the A.S. Almario Promotions, Tobi Sports, Cherry Lume (Ang Yerong May Aluminum), Omico Corp and GMA News for helping us in making this promotion a reality in our efforts to keep boxing alive in this country,? Co said.

Also in the card are three more 10-round supporting events featuring up-and-coming fighters in the likes of bantamweight Daniel Ferreras against Marvin Tampus and flyweights Bobby Concepcion against Gilbert Gurdario and Jeffrey Cerna against Rogen Flores.

Featherweights Bebong Manalo and Warren Manbuanag take each other in the lone eight-rounder. A pair of six-rounders pit Nino Valenzuela against Lester Abulan and Jmel Mungkal; against JR Florendo, both in the minimumwight scraps. Jonjon Estrada faces Mark Postrano in a four-round bantamweight clash, while light-flyweights JC Francisco and Juanito Hundante battles in another four-round curtain raiser.
