CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY--Kidapawan's Arnel Porras caused a major upset when he dethroned Dexter Delada as RP lightweight champion, stopping the latter in the second round of a scheduled 12-rounder at the Gusa Sports Complex, this city, last night.

Delada, cut over his left eyelid by a headbutt in the opening round, went down twice in the second stanza, forcing the referee to call a halt to the fight at 2:12 of the round.

Delada, however, wanted to get a return bout after the fight, confident as his manager Rex 'Wakee' Salud holds an option to Porras' next fight.

In the undercard, Bogie Delada wowed the crowd with a second round stoppage of Bohol's Isidro Balabat.

More to come...
