LOS ANGELES--This news will give him a smile on his face.

Newly-crowned World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth superbantam champion Bernabe Concepcion yesterday got a promotional contract from Top Rank, and a new teeth from a renowned orthodontist here.

Concepcion, according to Top Rank, has signed a promotional contract with the boxing outfit following his win on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Erik Morales bout last Sunday.

"Our matchmakers really, really like Concepcion and we are thrilled he is on the Top Rank team," said promoter Bob Arum in a release sent to the media yesterday.

Concepcion took the WBC Youth title with a thrilling unanimous decision over the highly-favored and erstwhile undefeated Joksan Hernandez of Mexico in their 10-round contest.

Meanwhile, Concepcion yesterday was fitted with a new set of mouthguard by renowned Los Angeles-based orthodontist Ed De la Vega, who is also known for making the custom-made mouthpieces of Manny Pacquiao.

"Aside from making him a new mouthpiece, I also had to replace one of his teeth. When he arrives in Manila, I told him to wear his belt with a smile," De la Vega said yesterday.

Concepcion is set to arrive in Manila today along with the world's best pound-for-pound fighter Manny Pacquiao.
