Juan Manuel Marquez has been complaining that the judges erred in their decisions during the previous three encounters they had with Manny Pacquiao. It led to the conception of the fourth fight on December 8, 2012.

Marquez has always wanted to face Pacquiao rematch after rematch to prove that the results were wrong. When he came to the Philippines he openly confided his ill feelings to the media of being robbed by the judges? decisions.

Pacquiao believed that bad decisions of the judges are part of the sport and should be accepted as they are. Win or lose, their decisions should be admitted no matter how harsh are the verdicts.

?If you compare my fight to the Bradley fight, I think it?s worse ? the Bradley fight. But I never complained,? Pacquiao was quoted by Boxing Scene. ?Did you hear from me, from my mouth, that I?m complaining that I lose the fight? I never complained. That?s part of the sport.?

Pacquiao experienced one of the worst decisions in boxing history when he was beaten by split decision to Timothy Bradley, and lose his WBO welterweight title. Judges Duane Ford and CJ Ross scored it 115-113 for Bradley, while Judge Jerry Roth saw it 115-113, for Pacquiao.

The WBO authorized a review of the fight by a panel of five selected judges and in all their scorecards, Pacquiao won over Bradley?117-111, 117-111, 118-110, 116-112, 115-113. But they could not reverse the decision and the belt remained with the undefeated American.

?To me it?s no longer important if the WBO would not overturn the decision of the judges,? Pacquiao said. ?The truth has come out and boxing fans got the justice they deserve.?

When asked about his reaction regarding Marquez?s bigger physique, Pacquiao simply ignored the size disadvantage. ?I wouldn?t be surprised if he?s bigger than me. I can be like that also if I want. I?ve been fighting a bigger guy so it?s no big deal to me,? he said as quoted by The Journal.

Coach Freddie Roach said that they changed strategy to win convincingly this time. ?The game plan we used the first three times wasn?t that effective so I?m going to let Manny just be himself,? Roach said. ?I think this is going to be the best fight he?s had against him because he?s really going to let both hands go, and he?s really, really motivated for this fight.?

During their third encounter, CompuBox stats showed that Pacquiao threw 578 punches and landed 176 of them as compared to Marquez?s 436 thrown and 138 landed. As for jabs, Pacquiao connected 59 of 304, while Marquez hit 38 of 182. In the power punches category, Pacquiao 117 of 274 for 43% accuracy, while Marquez landed 100 of 254 for 39%. The judges scored it 115-113, 116-112 and 114-114 for a Pacquiao majority decision win.
